Week 8 progress

Progress     I would say that i've made substantial progress in my writing this semester so far. I've been able to be very creative with my story retelling and am now at the point where I'm comfortable using dialogue in my stories. I still haven't nailed a weekly routine but I manage to get all my assignments done! I will definitely take advantage of the extra credit once it gets closer to the end of the semester. I think that my website development is going well and the second-person point of view. In the future, I'd like to time manage a little better so that way I have more time to focus on story research and development for my storybook. I think the structure of my website and blog have worked well so far, so changes will not need to be made to those.  Law School at UT Austin Source: Law School 100

Week 8 Comments and Feedback

Feedback     Overall, I find the comments received from other students to be mostly helpful. The comments with more structure that give both positive and negative feedback are the most helpful, because they show you what you're doing well AND what you could improve on, instead of one or the other. I would say that my comments that I leave for other students are also helpful because I try to emphasize on methods like the WWW that also give suggestions. Analyzing others' writing style definitely helps with my personal creativity and how I can improve. I love being able to read through people's introductions and comment on them because although we are online, it still feels personal. In the future, I need to focus on actually implementing some. of the suggestions given to me instead of just reading them, but I don't think my physical comment wall or introduction needs work itself. This was the first image I came across but it resonated within me really well. Just because...

Week 8 Reading and Writing

Looking Back     Overall I have enjoyed the reading and writing assignments a lot. One thing I appreciate about the structure of this course is that it encourages creativity and cognition which is not something that is common in college; a lot of courses are solely about retaining the information and getting a grade. I don't love the organization of my blog, but I'm overall very happy with how my project website has turned out so far. I like how each story is interconnected through the narrator and is relatable to the audience- I was skeptical about the second-person point of view but it seems to have gone well so far and helped submerge the reader. In terms of accomplishment, I think my writing skills have improved quite a bit. Towards the beginning, I was scared to use dialogue but I've become a lot more comfortable with it now and have incorporated it into my storybook for the majority of the posts. My favorite reading this year has been Ramayana- I loved the mythica...
